Introducing…..

Wow, can you believe it? It’s already been over a year since I’ve started this blog!
So far you’ve seen some of the DIY projects I’ve done, nail art designs and tutorials, a few videos, recipes, and even some holidayprojects…oh, and a touch of apartment gardening.
Then I joined Pinterest. And damn it Pinterest, you are ridiculously
addicting! On top of having more recipe ideas, DIY project to-do’s and shoes
that I want then I will ever complete, I also seemed to have acquired nearly
20,000 pins *yikes* and over 100 boards. Crazy. But I love it.

And not that long ago I started creating my “top collection”;
if you will, of various holiday or seasonal nail art designs. I wanted an all-in-one
place for some of the latest and greatest nail art designs and tutorials.

Not too long after, I started a regular post on Tuesday’s,
called “Etsy Treasury Tuesdays”. I LOVE putting together theme curated, handpicked
items in an Etsy Treasury, and sharing them with you! You never know what the
theme of the week is going to be, and the unbelievable range of items on Etsy
allows me to share unique, handmade and vintage items with you as well.

While all of this is going on, here on the blog, in the
outside world I have been pursing my dream of becoming an Event Designer. I’ve gotten unbelievable event experience, meet great industry professionals, and even
planned and coordinated several weddings. I dream of designing events from the
first save the date card in the mail, to the very last second of a fantastic
event. All in a client’s idea, color scheme, or whatever their imagination desires!

I love the idea of
themed events, but I see taking it to the next level, “designed”, as what I truly
wish to do. It is the difference between going to the party store and buying a
bunch of tropical luau paper crafts to scatter throughout a room, to dreaming
up (and making happen!) a volcano photo back drop for guests to enjoy, fresh
pineapple drinks, and luau dancers entertaining your guests, and a million more
little tiny details that help put together an unforgettable event.

In the next few days, you will see the first of a new,
weekly series of posts called “The Sparkle Queen Events”. Each week I will be challenging
myself to create a new event with a new theme and design that will serve as
digital inspiration boards.

And let’s be clear: I’m not talking about making unlimited
spending, fairy tale, crazy wonderland events (though I may throw in a few of
those occasionally!). I’m talking about REAL EVENTS. Events that have DIY
elements, handmade pieces, and budget friendly ideas.

Beautiful events for real people. That is what I am making.
Excitement does not even begin to cover how excited I am to
be sharing this series with you! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do just
putting it together, and I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and
comments on all of the events that I share.

What type of events would you like to see?

The Sparkle Queen
