Hello Darlings!
I would like to introduce you to what flowers look like in my world!
I had to crank the exposure/brightness up on my camera to try and really show you just how vibrant they are in person. My photography skills are still on my to-do list of things I want to improve on sooner rather than later. Without the extreme settings they look a lot less intense:
Mostly they are from the world I create while I’m in doodling in my lecture classes, but none the less, my little world. This art originated out of some sketches I did last semester. I love the flow and the Dr. Suess-ish-ness of them. This series is done on simple stretched canvas with acrylic paints.
I have had this series of flowers done for a few weeks now, and have been putting off photographing them for some reason. I think it’s because I am debating if they are truly finished or not. You can see that two of them are done in a very cubism, bold style, which I absolutely love doing:
The other pair, however, has been done in my interpretation of impressionism. I love the effect you can create with impressionistic art, but for me, actually achieving that effect in a project is half the battle. I’m getting better at it!
A part of me wants to re-do them or separate them, but I really like the mix of the different styles. Oh the things you can do!
It only seems appropriate to end this post with a Dr. Seuss quote:
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, It’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, And that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.”
Love,
The Sparkle Queen
