The two looks I’m sharing with you are going to be perfect
for all of the nail art beginners out there. The focus is going to be on
creating beautiful looks and taking good care of your hands and nails.

Alright, time to get to the nails! Now, here is the easy to

Step One: Prep your nails! Clean filed nails,
moisturized skin and cuticles, and a strong base coat are a must. I’ve been
using the fantastic lotion that Suave has been kind enough to send me. Starting off your manicure with strong and healthy nails is the key to better
manicures and happy nails. This week I have been trying out (and raving about!)
the Suave® Skin Solutions Smoothing Body Lotion with Cocoa Butter & Shea. Not only is it super moisturizing, but
it is almost like having an aromatherapy session in your own home it smells
that good!

Step Two: Apply your base color. Not to be confused
with your base coat (which is typically clear). In this look, I’m using two
coats of an opaque nude polish. I’m
pretty tan at the moment (yay for summer!) so it looks almost white, but I
promise it is a standard nude polish!

Step Three:
Add a layer of shimmer! OK, I had a heck of a time photographing the
subtle shimmer, but trust me it is there. Apply one coat of a shimmer polish. I
used one that was very neutral, and the glitter in the polish was SUPER tiny,
practically sand sized. If you aren’t big on shimmer, feel free to skip this
step.

Oh, and I’ll be sharing a video on my Youtube channel soon
on how I made this look, and you will be able to see the subtle shimmer I am
talking about there.

Step Four: Time for the rhinestones! Add a second
coat of your shimmer polish (or one of a clear coat if you skipped out on the
shimmer) to one nail. What you are creating here is the “glue” for the
rhinestone. On a scrap piece of paper, put the tiniest of dab of the shimmer or
clear polish you used. You are going to lightly tap in one of the Q-tips®
Precision Tips™ cotton swabs into
the polish, to make it sticky, and then pick up your rhinestone with it to
apply to your nail.

It sounds like a lot, but I promise it is super easy once
you realize what is going on! Repeat adding a layer of polish and applying a
rhinestone to the nails one at a time, or else the polish will dry and the
rhinestone won’t stick to your nail.

Step Five: Seal it and clean it up! Use a clear top
coat of your choice to seal in your sparkly new nails. Then, using your Q-tips®
Precision Tips™ cotton swabs dipped
in a little drop of polish remover. Rinse
your hands when you are done to remove any lingering chemicals. Those little
guys are so helpful, aren’t they?

Step Six: Moisturize! I LOVE the smell of the Suave
Skin Solutions Cocoa Butter and Shea lotion after a good manicure, too! It just adds the finishing, relaxing touches
to a good manicure. Plus it helps keeps my hands soft and smooth.

After all that, it is
time to enjoy your nails! This looks is great for anyone working in a field
where bright and bold nail art isn’t allowed, but you still want your nails to
look beautiful, don’t you think?
