Gryffindor house is synonymous with bravery, warmth, and a touch of cozy chaos. I’ve always loved the inviting atmosphere of their common room, and a few years ago, I decided to translate that aesthetic into a luxurious living room concept. Using real products, I crafted a mood board in PowerPoint that captured the essence of Gryffindor style, imagined in a more realistic living room you could find in a luxurious room.
Fast forward to today, and the incredible advancements in AI have opened up a whole new world of design possibilities. Enter Midjourney AI – and suddenly, my Gryffindor living room dreams could be elevated to stunning, photorealistic images.
The Transformation
Taking inspiration from my original mood board, I began to experiment with Midjourney AI. The key elements were always there:
- Cozy Armchairs: Deep, plush seating in rich reds and velvety golds, perfect for sinking into with a good book.
- Roaring Fireplace: A grand stone fireplace became the heart of the room, its flames flickering and casting a warm glow.
- Chess Set: No Gryffindor-inspired space would be complete without a game of Wizard’s Chess!

Midjourney’s ability to interpret my descriptions and layer details was astounding. I played with both square and wide aspect ratios, each offering a unique perspective:
- Square Format: A focused, intimate view showcasing the fireplace and seating area, highlighting the cozy ambiance.
- Wide Format: A grander vista, taking in more of the room’s details, creating a sense of spacious luxury.
The Results
The final images were truly breathtaking. Midjourney captured the textures, lighting, and subtle nuances that bring a room to life. It was my Gryffindor living room vision brought to life in a way I could not have achieved with my original mood board alone. This AI-powered design journey has been incredibly rewarding.
